Hi, I'm Deano.
I'm a travel and documentary photographer based in the West Midlands, driven by curiosity, a camera, and a desire to understand the world a little better with every journey.
For most of my life, I was terrified of flying. Then in 2025, I decided it was time to challenge that fear. I set myself an ambitious goal: visit 12 countries in 12 months while keeping travel as affordable and accessible as possible. I completed 11 countries, but more importantly, I discovered something far greater than a collection of passport stamps.
What began as a travel challenge became a journey of personal growth, confidence, and seeing the world through a different lens.
Camera Film Travel is where I document that journey.
Here you'll find honest destination guides, photography projects, travel tips, food discoveries, local history, and the stories behind the photographs. I share the highlights, the setbacks, the unexpected moments, and the lessons learned along the way, because travel is rarely as polished as social media makes it appear.
I shoot on both film and digital, and I'm particularly drawn to places, people, and stories that reveal something deeper about a destination. Whether that's a quiet fishing village in Mallorca, a hidden street in Japan, a pilgrimage route, or a forgotten piece of family history, I'm always searching for the stories that connect us to the places we visit.
Whether you're looking for photography inspiration, planning your next adventure, or simply following along as the journey continues, I'm glad you're here.
Built on curiosity. Carried by a camera. Learning the world, one trip at a time.
